Swansea Building Society Arena - a new era for live entertainment and events
January 28, 2025

Marking the start of an exciting five-year partnership, we are proud to announce that Swansea Arena will now be known as Swansea Building Society Arena. This change takes effect today, Tuesday 28th January 2025, and represents the coming together of two iconic Swansea institutions with a shared vision for our city’s future.
Developed by Swansea Council and operated by world leaders in live entertainment, ATG Entertainment, Swansea Building Society Arena is the crowning jewel in the £135m Copr Bay Phase One development. The venue has already welcomed renowned national and international acts such as Alice Cooper, Paloma Faith, Hollywood Vampires, and Michael McIntyre. It has also played host to prestigious events like the BetVictor Snooker Shootout and the Child of Wales Awards.
Since its opening in March 2022, the arena has welcomed over half a million visitors, becoming a cornerstone of South Wales’ entertainment and events scene. Its flexible, modular design makes it an ideal venue not only for concerts and comedy but also for conferences, exhibitions, banquets, and more. With clients such as 4theRegion, UNISON, and the Institute of Physics, it has established itself as a key player in both the local and national events market.
Our naming rights partnership will see our branding featured prominently across the venue, including physical signage, digital displays on the LED façade, and online platforms such as the arena’s website and social media channels. Beyond the branding, this collaboration reflects our deep commitment to supporting Swansea’s thriving arts and culture scene.
Over the next five years, we’ll be working together to champion local talent and expand the city’s cultural offering. Initiatives like the annual House Party, Coffee Shop Sessions, and the venue’s Creative Learning programme will continue to inspire and nurture creativity within our community.
Alun Williams, our Chief Executive, said:
“As a proud Swansea-based organisation, we are thrilled to announce our five-year partnership with the Arena, now named Swansea Building Society Arena. This collaboration represents our deep commitment to championing local arts, celebrating global talent, and investing in the cultural future of our city. Together, we share a vision of Swansea as a thriving hub of creativity and community. By supporting the venue, we aim to enrich the lives of residents and visitors alike, ensuring Swansea’s cultural legacy continues to shine brightly on both a local and global stage.”
Lisa Mart, Venue Director of Swansea Building Society Arena, said:
“We’re very proud to be teaming up with one of Swansea’s most iconic and well-respected institutions as our naming rights partner for the next five years. Going into our fourth year of operation in March 2025, we’re excited to mark a new era for Swansea Arena. Working with the Swansea Building Society team, it is clear to see the alignment in both of our visions towards seeing Swansea placed firmly on the entertainment and cultural map while celebrating and supporting the city’s up-and-coming talent. It has been extremely important to us to make sure our naming rights partner fitted with our values, and we feel that Swansea Building Society is the perfect fit for us. We’re all collectively looking forward to seeing what the next five years will bring for the Arena and the city.”
Looking ahead, the Swansea Building Society Arena is set to host an exciting line-up of performances in 2025 and beyond, including pop-punk legends Bowling For Soup, pop icon Anastacia, and top comedians John Bishop, Greg Davies, and Rob Beckett.
We’re excited to see what the next five years hold for our partnership with the arena and look forward to continuing to play a key role in Swansea’s cultural
