Thank you for visiting the Swansea Building Society (the Society) website (Website). By using the Society’s Website you confirm that you accept these terms of use and that you agree to comply with them. We suggest that you read these terms carefully and if you do not accept these terms you must not use our Website.

Regulatory Information
The Society is a member of the Building Societies Association and we subscribe to the Banking Code. Our registered address is 11/12 Cradock Street, Swansea, SA1 3EW. The Society is authorised by the Prudential Regulation Authority and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority and the Prudential Regulation Authority, reference number 206066.  We belong to the Financial Ombudsman Service, details of the scheme are available on request.

Each of the products and services shown on the Website are only available to United Kingdom residents and shall be governed by English and Welsh law.

We may make changes to these terms
We amend these terms from time to time.  Every time you wish to use the Website, please check these terms to ensure you understand the terms that apply at that time.  

We may make changes to the Website
We may update and change our Website from time to time to reflect changes to our products and services. 

We may suspend or withdraw the Website 
The Website is made available free of charge.

We do not guarantee that the Website, or any content of it, will always be available or uninterrupted.    We may suspend or withdraw or restrict the availability of all or any part of our Website for business and operational reasons.

If you choose, or you are provided with, a user identification code, password or any other piece of information as part of our security procedures, you must treat such information as confidential.  You must not disclose it to any third party.

We have the right to disable any user identification code or password, whether chosen by you or allocated by us, at any time, if in our reasonable opinion you have failed to comply with any of the provisions of these terms of use.

Unless otherwise stated, we are the owner or the licensee of all intellectual property rights in the Website, and in the materials published on it.  Those works are protected by copyright laws and treaties around the world.  All such rights are reserved.

The materials and information displayed on this Website are solely for your personal use and you may only download, print, copy or reproduce any material for a non-commercial use and on the following basis:

  • no documents or related graphics on this Website are modified in any way; and
  • no illustrations, photographs, video or audio sequences or any graphics on this Website are used separately from accompanying text; and The images, logos, names and trading marks used on this Website to identify the Society, our products and services are our proprietary marks whether registered or unregistered. Our status (and that of any identified contributors) as the authors of content on the Website must always be acknowledged.

You must not use any part of the content on our Website for commercial purposes without obtaining a license to do so from us or our licensors. 

If you print off, copy or download any part of our site in breach of these terms of use, your right to use our Website will cease immediately and you must, at our option, return or destroy any copies of the materials you have made.

Any hyperlinks displayed on the Website are for your information only. If you choose to follow any hyperlink you will be leaving the Website. The Society does not control, endorse or approve the content of any other website and we do not accept any liability arising from your use of any hyperlinks. 

We are not responsible for viruses and you must not introduce them 
We do not guarantee that the Website will be secure or free from bugs or viruses. 

You are responsible for configuring your information technology, computer programmes and platform to access the Website.  You should use your own virus protection software. 

You must not misuse our Website by knowingly introducing viruses, trojans, worms, logic bombs or other material that is malicious or technologically harmful.  You must not attempt to gain unlawful access to the Website, the server on which our Website is stored or any server, computer or database connected to our site. You must not attack our Website via a denial-of-service attack or a distributed denial-of-service attack.  By breaching this provision, you would commit a criminal offence under the Computer Misuse Act 1990.   We will report any such breach to the relevant law enforcement authorities and we will co-operate with those authorities by disclosing your identity to them.  In the event of such a breach, your right to use the Website will cease immediately. 

Visitor Material and Conduct
Other than personally identifiable information, which is covered under our privacy policy, any material that you transmit or post to the Website shall be considered non-confidential and non-proprietary. The Society shall have no obligations with respect to such material. The Society and its designees shall be free to copy, disclose, distribute, incorporate and otherwise use such material and all data, images, sounds, text and other things embodied therein for any and all commercial or non-commercial purposes.

You are prohibited from posting or transmitting to or from the Website any material that is threatening, defamatory, obscene, indecent, seditious, offensive, abusive, discriminatory, in breach of confidence, in breach of privacy, which may cause annoyance or inconvenience, infringe the rights of any third party or be contrary to the law.

The Society has the right to disclose your identity to any third party who is claiming that any content posted or uploaded by you to our site constitutes a violation of their intellectual property rights, or of their right to privacy.

Nothing in these terms will exclude or limit the Society's liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence or arising from our fraudulent misrepresentation.

General
If any of these terms are deemed to be illegal or unenforceable, then that term will be severed and deleted and the remaining terms will continue to be binding and enforceable.

These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with English and Welsh law. Disputes arising in connection with these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English and Welsh courts.
