What is an identity check?

We have a responsibility to verify the name and address of all customers wishing to open an account.

Identity checks are standard to protect your money from fraud. We usually use an electronic verification process to check your identity, which means we don’t often need to ask for paper ID.

Why might I be asked to send in identification?

Our electronic verification check may sometimes be inconclusive, especially if you’ve recently changed your name or moved address. If this happens, we may ask you to provide additional identification before we can open your account.

Can I deposit into my account immediately?

We need to process and approve your application before you can make your initial deposit. Once your application is processed, we’ll send you a secure message to confirm if your account is open and ready for your deposit, or if we need more information.

Once approved, please fund your account within 14 days. If the account isn’t funded within that time, we’ll need to close it.

What if I change my mind about the account I have opened?

We’d be sorry to see you go, but if you do want to close your account, please visit our website for more information.
